Training teachers of English as a medium of instruction: The use of metadiscourse devices

This paper explores the outcomes of training pragmatics identifying metadiscourse devices that are used by content teachers enrolled on a course leading to university qualification for teaching in English within context Spanish-speaking country. Specifically, I focus analysis frequencies textual and interactional lecturers during an online as Medium Instruction (EMI) with aim use how it could affect their profession. The method followed involved one hundred units. first step this was collect final projects written three academic years EMI who were at Universitat Politècnica de València. then identified devices, analysed functions unit compiled examples. results later compared pragmatic received also proposed some guidelines help improve devices. Finally, conclusions be useful trainers trainees drawn.
